Orthodontics

Orthodontics is the term which deals with the prevention, growth and development of the dentofacial orthopedics, and the identification, prevention and correction of dental and facial irregularities, abnormalities or defects.

For these abnormalities, laser treatments are now in use. Two different kinds of lasers may be used in orthodontic practice: soft tissue surgical lasers, which are used to incise or excise tissue; and photo-bio-modulating (PBM) lasers, which decrease post-treatment discomfort, favorably affect bone growth rate, and accelerate tooth movement.
